Hey there.
So a few updates since my (P.D.'s momma) last entry:
We've spotted tooth numero uno. Up until this last week, whenever Greta was a bit fussy we'd say, we think she's beginning to teethe.... Well, we've come to the realization that those moments were just normal baby fussy times. We had no idea how miserable teething could make our little peanut! From fussiness, to sleeplessness, to a new runny nose (or newly acquired cold- gulp)...we've got all the classic symptoms of teething and we can now see & feel the new tooth on the way. It hasn't totally broken through the skin yet, or we'd of course be proudly posting pictures of peanut's 1st, but we are on our knees hoping that it will break through soon and get this misery done with quickly!
Developmentally, Greta now has the pincer grasp (grasping things between her forefinger & thumb) down, so she's feeding herself some cool little fruit puff things at every meal. This is the first step towards dinner time independence and mommy is HAPPY about that! She's accepted peas into her dinnertime repetoire so we are pleased with her veggie-open-mindedness. We will soon be giving her things from the table and I will be glad to call it quits on making a good bit of my own baby food. Greta is also practicing standing constantly now...we try to encourage her to spend a healthy amount of time on the floor gaining the skills & strength needed to crawl, but we need to work on our resolve :)
We took Monday off to drive down and see Tyler's grandma Bonnie in southern Minnesota. She's been recooperating this summer with the help of Tyler's youngest sister, Jayne. So we had a great visit with these 2 and Greta was a trooper on the 4 hour round trip drive.
We're looking forward to a nice quiet weekend together- punctuated by a potentially rowdy trip to the MN state fair. I've never been and the preacher promises me that it is an event not to be missed. Sounds like someone has his heart set on "walleye on a stick" to me!

She gets more beautiful with every post! I miss her, and you so much! There are only a couple teeth that cause major crankiness, hopefully you get them all at once and then you're done :) Love you guys!
