Greetings from Bricktown on this lovely MLK Day. Today was all about feedin' and gettin' to spend some quality time with Greta-boo after a night of sleep. We put 'Bama Gramps on the train up to the Newark Airport early this morning and the grandmas had the rest of the day to sit in the hospital room with El and I admiring what God helped us create. I told Greta today that it was a good thing that she's cute because otherwise it wouldn't be as much fun to stare at someone all day long who only seems to sleep, cry and poop. ;-)
Eleanor is recovering well. Today she had the option of going home or staying another night. She elected to stay until Tuesday because Greta has a bit of jaundice and the nurses are going to take another blood sample in the morning. We've been assured it's nothing to worry about and that Greta will be fine, but we're playing it safe. In the meantime Eleanor will probably let the nurses take Greta to the nursery between feedings tonight in an attempt to get a good night's sleep before coming home tomorrow.
I'm about to hit the sack myself, but I'll leave you with a few pictures from today. Thank you to all of you who have posted such kind messages on this blog. I've also heard that some folks don't know how to post their comments. All you have to do is scroll down the page to where it says the number of comments (usually just before the next day's entry) and click on the word "comments." Then type your message and follow the directions. That's it! More tomorrow.

Congratulations! Carrie shared the good news with me yesterday as soon as she and Peter got back. She was so excited! Greta sure is cute! Enjoy your new little bundle of joy and parenthood!
I couldn't help but pass along the blog site to some of my buds--she's just too ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS not to share (ok, brag) about! :-)
Man, I wish you guys were still here in Evanston...
PS I worked in the NICU this summer, as well as with some healthy moms and babies, and let me tell you (all bias aside--if that's possible), Abby is COMPLETELY right, this babe's the most beautiful!
That pink hat looks familiar... She's a fashion diva already. :-)
