D-Day, or so they say . . .

I couldn't sleep much last night. I was too excited about today. We've already been to the doctor's office this morning for the check-up. We've been scheduling our weekly doctor visits at 8:00 on Wednesdays just so we can find out about Peanette's progress first thing in the morning. Another benefit to going early in the day is getting to see the morning news and not having to watch "The View" or "Dr. Phil" in the waiting room at a deafening volume.
We got called in and Ellie mentioned something about not feeling the baby kick as much these days. The doc said it was probably due to constricted space, but he put her on an antiquated looking machine that resembled and Apple 2-E. I was surprised to learn that it was a fetal heart monitor and that it didn't play Oregon Trail or Where In the World is Carmen San Diego. Eleanor got to wear a spiffy belt that searched for the heartbeat and she held a little button, like the morphine ones, that she pushed every time she felt the baby move.

The good news: the baby is doing fine.

The disappointing news: the baby shows no signs of coming out. Whatayagonnado?

And so we wait.

It's all about the baromoter. Babies come with storms. Just Nature's little joke.
